The concept of this project is 'Nature as a Spatial Form Giver.' This model takes its influence from the dandelion—specifically the individual seeds. Each seed has a puff of tiny hairs at the top which allows it to take flight and drift with the wind.

This particular project involved designing an outdoor seating element. Here we see a neoclassic inspired chair which has been reinvented using non-traditional materials, such as recycled steel and recycled post-consumer plastics. Six different versions of the chair were created, as well as three ottomans.

The challenge for this project was to redesign a timber frame home with an open concept plan which was ideal for entertaining. The clients were planning on living in this home for the rest of their lives, so aging in place was a major factor.
